No.200: Are You Homeless?

The blade that cuts you
while you are surrounded by family —
real friends —
will always hurt less
than the blade that cuts you
when you are alone,
or even worse,
surrounded by people you pretend
are your own.
Go find your home.

Or better yet,
stay where you are,
plant your feet and sow
your sweat and death to self
as the seed.
Build your family tree
one act of humility at a time,
because if there’s one thing I know,
it’s that life never grows
unrooted,
unruly,
unburdened,
or untouched by the needs of others.

Only the homeless need to be served at every corner.
Your home
is where your sacrifice is.
